Founded in 1975, the non-profit Adirondack Council’s mission is to ensure the ecological integrity and wild character of the Adirondack Park. With members in all 50 states, the Council employs 14 staff in two offices: Elizabethtown in the Adirondack Park, and the state capital of Albany. To protect the Adirondacks, the Council uses the best science, the law, and an understanding of political decision making, to educate, inform and motivate the public and those who make public policy.

Job description:
The Adirondack Vision Program Director will be the chief manager of a multi-year project titled Adirondack Vision: Delivering on the Promise of the Adirondack Park. This project will produce recommendations and strategies for strengthening the preservation and management of the Park’s wild lands and natural resources while respecting the needs of diverse human communities in environmentally responsible ways. Products will include published reports, digital presentations and internal strategic plans.
