Please pass along this link and position announcement to your human dimensions colleagues. The Arkansas Game and Fish Commission has begun their search to hire a human dimensions specialist.


LOCATION: Arkansas; Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, Little Rock, AR

APPLICATION DUE: 08-May-2017

PREFERRED MINIMUM EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: The formal education equivalent of a master’s degree in Human Dimensions of Natural Resources, Fisheries or Wildlife Management, Conservation Management, or related area. Candidate must have relevant experience with design, implementation, and analysis of surveys and other techniques used for evaluation of program fulfillment.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS: Knowledge of the principles of biology, ecology, and related environmental sciences. Knowledge of game and fish management programs and the North American Wildlife Management Model. Knowledge of current human dimensions applications in natural resources. Knowledge and experience with current survey design, implementation, analysis, and reporting techniques. Knowledge of adult learning and instructional practices and methods of delivery. Ability to communicate orally and in writing with a wide range of audiences. Ability to make public presentations. Ability to work cooperatively with a wide variety of stakeholders including governmental and non-governmental agents, as well as members of the public. Ability to independently plan work unit objectives and execute operational activities.
