*Assistant Professor and Extension Specialist*

Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Sciences

Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service

*Position Description:* The Department of Wildlife and Fisheries
Sciences seeks an Assistant Professor and Extension Wildlife Specialist
(non-tenure track) to fill a 100% Extension appointment with Texas A&M
AgriLife Extension Service. The area served includes portions of the
Edwards Plateau and South Texas Plains ecological regions with the
candidate housed at the Texas A&M AgriLife Research & Extension Center,
in Uvalde, Texas.

*Duties and Responsibilities: *The successful applicant will be
responsible for development and delivery of Extension programming in
wildlife management. Duties include (1) providing support to County
Extension Agents and the development of County-level programming; (2)
development of innovative Extension education materials directed at
enhancing wildlife resources in Texas – programs of focus will include
native game and non-game species of economic importance, and
wildlife-livestock interactions; (3) collaborating with a network of
wildlife biologists and other natural resource managers and scientists
within state and federal agencies and non-governmental conservation
groups; (4) contribute to expansion of youth conservation education
programs; (5) development of external funding sources for supporting
Extension and applied research activities in faculty member’s area of
expertise; and (6) Provide general support to the land grant mission of
the Texas A&M University System 7) design and conduct applied research
projects as necessary to address wildlife management issues.

*Administrative Relationships: *The Extension Wildlife Specialist will
report administratively to Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service and will
respond to Extension Administration through the Department Head and
Associate Department Head for Extension in the Department of Wildlife
and Fisheries Sciences.

*Qualifications: *Completed Ph.D. in Wildlife Science or closely related
discipline; record of experience with educational outreach programs
preferred.

*Salary: *Commensurate with experience and education.
