Position Summary: This is a new resident-instruction/ on-campus tenure-track faculty position to support the department’s teaching, research, and outreach. Workload will be distributed as 50% teaching/advising, 40% research and 10% service/outreach.
The Human Dimensions of Natural Resources Department is a social science unit with expertise in a number of disciplines working to address a diversity of conservation issues around the globe. We are seeking an individual who can complement this expertise through new methodologies, topical focus areas and/or disciplinary training. Specifically, the individual will to contribute to understanding about society’s capacity to adapt and/or respond to major conservation social science issues and challenges. We are seeking an individual with expertise to address this topic via their respective social science training and perspective.
The successful candidate is expected to establish and maintain an ambitious research program that is strong in its potential for application to conservation issues, and integrates contemporary methods and/or topics. In addition, the successful candidate will value a role in preparing students for conservation work and research, including teaching 3-4 classes annually.
