Dear SCB members:
I'm
in the process of commissioning review articles on the thematic topic
"The Anthropocene and Effects on Biodiversity" for a global online reference
module by Elsevier publications called: ‘Earth Systems and Environmental
Sciences’ (http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/referenceworks/9780124095489).
Topical
articles for this special feature will focus on the Anthropocene and its relation to
climate change, deforestation, extinction rates, population growth and
resource consumption, freshwater and marine ecosystem impacts, human
carrying capacity and planetary boundaries, and especially how the scale
of human activities impacts reserve design and conservation biology
approaches among related topics.
Online
publications are the wave of the future and this module
is being marketed globally to universities and libraries and will have high visibility. The online module contains well over 4500 articles
summarizing the current state of knowledge of a wide range of topics,
mainly compiled from Elsevier’s major reference works and is
continuously updated and populated by the latest research.
The length of articles is up to 5000 words, including citations. They are meant to be a review articles that include a short bibliography of the most important publications on the topic. To say ‘Thank you’ for your contribution, Elsevier will provide you with 12 months free online access to Earth Systems and Environmental Science on www.sciencedirect.com.
Reference Modules contain trusted, peer-reviewed, comprehensive content from our reference works as curated by our distinguished editorial board. They are designed for faster, more relevant browsing within the subject and beyond, with topic pages for quick, clear overviews, subject hierarchies to put everything in context, and guidance to lead researchers to related knowledge. Content will be constantly reviewed and updated as new developments come to light, making it a valuable resource for researchers and students alike.
