Hello all,

I would like to share news about the El Verde Field Station (EVFS) in Puerto Rico's El Yunque National Forest (northeast part of the main island). It is one of many research stations associated with the Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) network for continued longitudinal studies. Researchers from the University of Puerto Rico and others on the mainland conduct research on the island's tropical rainforest ecosystem.

After the recent hurricanes, I inquired about the LTER team at the station including Jess Zimmerman, the director of the EVFS, and they are all doing ok. However, the research station is in bad shape and in need of resources and repair to resume full operations. Please consider making a donation at the GoFundMe site, which contains further details.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Best,
Tanja Crk
