I was recently asked this and don't know the answer:

Lionel, I have a question about entering in my database into my.comics.org. I was using comicbookdb and I’ve trying to migrate over (I haven’t had luck yet). Do you know if I can search for a particular creator within my database? With comicbookdb, I could search within my collection and it gave me everything I had that a particular creator was credited for. This helps when I’m going to comic cons. Just curious.

Also, what are the instructions for joining this list? I want to invite him to join.

Re: Joining the list, I think he can just go to https://groups.google.com/a/comics.org/forum/#!forum/mycomics-users and add himself.

AFAIK there is no way to currently do this, but it would fall under the general umbrella of the initial focus I want to do on search, and on being able to do bulk actions on the result of the search.  Searching within one or more or all of a member's own collection would be part of that.  And perhaps also searching other users's public collection, such as a for-sale or want list collection.

thanks,

One caveat to searching a collection for a creator.

Please Please Please have a way to specify only covers and comic story.  People are putting creators on promo sequences, which causes a creator to show in so many records he really didn't do anything for (except some stupid promo artwork).

You can do it. At some point I wrote a wiki page about it. (Sort-of).

Follow that but put the Creator in all the fields and click "or" at the top.

Also

I never really finished them so I don't think they are linked from anywhere. I kind of forgot about them :)

Oh right I keep forgetting that you can go back out to the advanced search page.  This is the second time!  Clearly, something more obvious as part of the mycomics side is needed.

cheers,
