A Call for Volunteers

Good morning, current and past members!
As you all know, the Columbus Pride Bands, while we excel in our performance abilities and put on shows that keep bringing folks back to see us event after event, it’s not without the help of our thoughtful and selfless volunteers getting us together in the background.
As we get ready for Pride Season, I am putting out the call for individuals who are ready and willing to help us for events, concerts, and performances when they are scheduled or pop up.
Now, this letter calls out for both current AND past/inactive members, and I want you to know that while you may not be performing with us, you can still have an impactful role with the band by helping us in this capacity. This is also a call for your friends, family, partners, enemies, coworkers to help us. There are plenty of folks who wish they could join us even though they don’t play an instrument—here’s their chance!
Volunteering is a great way to get more involved in the Pride Bands and connect with other volunteers and our community. If you have any college students in your life who need volunteer hours, this could also be a great opportunity for them! I do need to state that volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
Now, you might be asking, who do you need? What do you need? Excellent questions!
Some of the tasks we are looking for folks to help with:
Driving moving vans/trucks for transporting equipment for the Concert Bands
Setting up and tearing down stands during concerts
Transporting equipment to and from Goodale Park during the Stonewall Columbus Pride March and Resource Festival
People to march with the Marching Band during Pride to help hand out water and aide marchers if needed
Assist with photography during any of our performances across all of our ensembles
Be stationed at booths and informational stands set up at Pride events
Other opportunities as they are presented by the Artistic Staff of the Columbus Pride Bands
