Volunteers Needed: Hiring Help for Jenn!

We need your help!
As many of you know, we're in the middle of interviewing candidates for our Artistic Staff positions for the upcoming season. As part of the interview process, we have 4 candidates who will lead a rehearsal with an ensemble made up of Columbus Pride Bands members. This gives us an opportunity to see their rehearsal style, conducting technique, and how they interact with musicians.
This is where you come in!
We're looking for volunteers to play in these rehearsal ensembles on Tuesday, August 4. Our goal is to have a well-balanced ensemble, so the sign-up lists the amount of folks we are looking for on each instrument. If you're interested, please sign up as soon as possible before your section fills!
What To Expect
Please plan to arrive at the Harmony Center and be in your seat, ready to play by 6:30 PM. We'll begin with a brief overview of the process and a rehearsal of the music with Jenn.
Each candidate will then:
- Lead a 20–25 minute rehearsal
- Conduct one complete piece from beginning to end
After each rehearsal, we'll ask you to complete a brief evaluation form. Your feedback is an important part of the interview process and will help the hiring committee evaluate each candidate.
What About the Music?
Both selections have been performed by the Concert Band within the past few seasons, so some of you may already know them. If you haven't played them before, don't worry! We'll rehearse both pieces with Jenn before the candidates begin their rehearsals.
Schedule
Tuesday, August 4
6:30 PM – Rehearsal with Jenn (please be seated and ready to play by this time)
7:00–9:00 PM – Candidate rehearsals
