Hello,
Occasionally, I’ll find comics-related things available through CU Boulder Libraries that I think are neat. I thought I might as well share them here in case other people find them useful too. : )
Alexander Street Underground and Independent Comics database
- More than just comics (though there are also plenty of those!), this collection also contains the original run of The Comics Journal and hundreds of issues of magazines from TwoMorrows
Publishing (Alter Ego, Back Issue!, Jack Kirby Collector, and more!)
PS: The Preventive Maintenance Monthly
- Hidden away in Government Documents are years' worth of this magazine filled with comics published by the US Army. I don’t think we have any issues from when Will Eisner was artistic
director, but there are plenty of other recognizable artists (Wikipedia lists Murphy Anderson, Joe Kubert, Dan Spiegle, Alfredo Alcala, and Mike Ploog as contributors)
Dauntless Dames: High-Heeled Heroes of the Comic Strips
- Massive hardcover of old comic strips that won an Eisner Award earlier this year. It’s shelved in Art & Architecture Oversize, so easy to miss!
