Comics movies at Muenzinger Auditorium this semester

Hello all,

 

I just saw that this fall’s International Film Series at CU Boulder has a number of movies based on comics playing.

 

First up, Animation Appreciation Week is happening next week:

• Monday, September 30^th: Robot Dreams (based on the comic by Sara Varon)
• Tuesday, October 1^st: When the Wind Blows (based on the comic by Raymond Briggs)
• Thursday, October 3^rd: Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (based on the comic by Hayao Miyazaki)

 

Then, in November, there’s Graphic Novel Celebration Week:

• Tuesday, November 5^th: V for Vendetta (based on the comic by Alan Moore and David Lloyd)
• Wednesday, November 6^th: The Crow (based on the comic by James O'Barr)
• Thursday, November 7^th: Scott Pilgrim vs. the World (based on the comic by Bryan Lee O'Malley)
• Friday, November 8^th: Oldboy (based on the comic by Garon Tsuchiya and Nobuaki Minegishi)
• Saturday, November 9^th: Road to Perdition (based on the comic by Max Allan Collins and Richard Piers Rayner)

 

Unfortunately, the Libraries don’t have all of the comics these movies were based on in our collections, but you can always use interlibrary loan to borrow them!
