Dear friends,

The Center of the American West is sponsoring, Rewriting the West: Exploring Lineages of Transformation, a screening, reading, and presentation of three Digital Humanities (DH) projects. It takes place Friday, 15 March at 5pm in ATLAS 100/auditorium.  The themes these projects encompass include Infrastructure and race, land and the environment, & family and haunting in the American West.

It will feature Paisley Rekdal, whose project West: A Translation is a really beautiful examination of Chinese labor on the railroads, and the Chinese exclusion Act that followed. This might especially appeal to folks who are interested in DH. Also presented will be Lucas Besire, whose book on water in the West is outstanding. CU's very own Julie Carr will be showing a short and very beautiful film that was made for her book, Mud, Blood, and Ghosts: Populism, Eugenics, and Spiritualism in the American West.

We hope you'll join us and will help spread the word about this event - flyer is attached.

Many thanks,

Nickoal
