Visit by Haida manga author Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas - save the date

Haida artist, author, and speaker Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas (https://mny.ca/en/) will give a public lecture sponsored by the Center for British & Irish Studies on Tuesday, October 29 at 5pm.

The topic has not been finalized yet, but will in all likelihood deal with the 19^th-century acquisition and 20^th/21^st-century repatriation/ rematriation of Indigenous works in British and other European museums, the topic of Yahgulanaas's JAJ: A Haida Manga (Madeira Park, BC: Douglas & McIntyre, 2023), ISBN: 9781771623537.

Following on Catherine’s email, I want to announce that Kit Anderson, creator of Safer Places, will speak on September 17, 4:30-5:30, at the CTL-E390 in the CASE Building.

Kit Anderson is an Alumni of CU Boulder English Major who, after a career in graphic design, went on to study at the Center for Cartoon Studies. 

She has just published Safer Places (Avery Hill, 2024; ISBN: 1910395773). It is a gorgeous and intimate collection of short stories. 

She will be speaking on graphic novel making and the current state of the field.
