Financial Aid Reporting Guidance Request

Hello CDS Community,
Can you share with Seema how you are completing the financial aid section based on her question below:
We have a clarification question regarding the Financial Aid section in the CDS.
Our institution has historically used the federal need methodology for reporting purposes in the Common Dataset, per financial aid guidance. However, since we also use institutional need methodology for financial aid awarding, our financial aid office is now suggesting that we transition to reporting using either the IM Need or a combination of both IM and FM Need.
Could you provide guidance on how institutions typically report data in such a situation?
