Hello Everyone,
My name is Timothy Wortman, and I am an undergraduate researcher at Aurora University. I am doing a study called “Framing Neurodivergence: How Media and Public Perceptions Shape Self-Identity.”
The purpose of this study is to gain a better understanding of how media representations and perceptions of how others view neurodivergent individuals impact self-identity.
I am inviting adults (18+) who self-identify as neurodivergent and have encountered media portrayals of neurodiversity (news, social media, TV, movies, podcasts) to participate in a one-on-one virtual interview.
Interviews will take place over zoom and will be audio recorded for the purpose of data collection. The interview will take roughly 45–60 minutes. Some questions involve reflecting on personal experiences related to identity or stigma. All responses will be kept confidential, and pseudonyms will be used in all research materials.
If you are interested in participating, please complete the brief screening form here: Screener and you will be contacted to schedule an interview.
If you have any questions about the study, please feel free to contact me at twort...@aurora.edu, or my research advisor Dr. Giulia Visconti at gvis...@aurora.edu
Thank you for your consideration. Your voice and lived experience are valuable and thoroughly appreciated.

Sincerely,
Timothy Wortman
