Hello again all,

Thanks so much for sending the information about our conversation study around! For my Master's thesis, I'm working on a study to understand how autistic people identify who could be an ally for them at work or school. It would be great if you could distribute information about our study to autistic adults you know who might be interested in participating!

Below I’m including a blurb you can send in an email. I’m also attaching a flier.

Blurb: Researchers at the University of Maryland are looking for autistic adults to join a study about how autistic people identify allies. To be eligible, you must be over the age of 18 and have gotten (or wanted to get) accommodations related to being autistic at work or school.

The researchers invite autistic people to watch video clips of allies playing a training game and tell us what you think about how helpful each person could be to you by rating them. It will take no more than 80 minutes to watch the videos and give your ratings. We will also ask you for some basic information about yourself and about your autistic traits. These questions will take no more than 10 minutes to answer. You will be paid $50 via an online gift card for a store of your choice for the 90 minutes you spend on this study.

If you’re an autistic adult and want to join, fill out the screening form here. If you’re a caregiver for an autistic adult with an intellectual disability, you can fill out the form with them. All study materials can be provided in Easy Read format (at a 3rd-5th grade reading level with icons to support comprehension), and all study activities can be conducted verbally if needed.
