ADHD, like several other neurotypes, are viewed by the medical community through a deficit lens. People are referred for evaluation or seek a diagnosis themselves because of perceived challenges. It is rarely that one “armchair diagnoses” someone based on what are widely viewed as positive traits.
Florencia Ardon tackles this perspective in our November Neurodiversity Dialogues Session, using Leonardo Da Vinci as a case study. Da Vinci is considered a genius and the prototype of the Renaissance man; at the same time, some of his decisions and pursuits have long puzzled historians.
Join us for a conversation on the personality and other characteristics of Da Vinci, and how they can be explained when viewed from an ADHD perspective.
