Dear CAN Members and Program Directors,
Would you be willing to share the following email with your students? My doctoral dissertation is focused on learning directly from the autistic voice and implementing that critical perspective into ongoing supports in colleges and universities. I am able to
provide you with a copy of the IRB if needed.
Thanks in advance for your consideration and support.

Hello!
My name is Laurie Bowen, and I am a Doctoral Candidate in the Special Education program at the University of Northern Colorado. I am working on my dissertation research and am asking for your participation in my study.
I am interviewing autistic college students who are participating in Autism Specific College Support Programs to learn of their lived experiences at a college or university and the perceived effectiveness of the support program.
To be eligible for an interview, you must have an autism diagnosis, be attending a college or a university, and participating in an Autism Specific College Support Program.
Interviews will take place through a Zoom virtual meeting and will be recorded. You can determine if you'd like the camera on or off. You can also choose to have a friend with you during the interview, if that would be helpful. Questions will be provided in
advance so you can prepare answers before the interview takes place.
Interviews will take about an hour and will finish with demographic questions.
Participation in the interview is voluntary, and all participant interviews and identities will be kept confidential. Interested participants can follow this
Interview Link to register.
Thank you for helping with my dissertation and increasing our understanding from personal experiences about going to college or a university as an autistic student, using Autism Specific College Support Programs.
Kindest Regards,
Laurie Bowen
