Short-Term Project Assistant (Grant-Funded)
We are seeking a detail-oriented project assistant to support time-limited activities on a grant-funded project related to disability and autism systems, policy, and data infrastructure, called Facilitating Autistic Student Transitions (FAST).
Brief job summary The role will support discrete project tasks over a short period and is designed to be flexible based on project needs. One example of the work assigned during this period includes supporting a rapid, coordinated landscape scan of state-by-state and cross-system data sources that collect, store, link, or share information about individuals with autism and/or other disabilities. This may involve identifying formal and informal data systems, cross-sector agreements, and data-sharing infrastructures across education and workforce pipelines (e.g., K-12, higher education, vocational rehabilitation, employers, and other state or local government services).
Additional tasks may vary over the 4-6 week period and could include structured web-based research, synthesizing findings, organizing documentation, or supporting short written summaries tied to grant deliverables.
Compensation and time commitment This is a short-term, grant-funded project assistant role structured as a one-time payment. The project could pay up to $1,000, depending on the person's qualifications. This role is expected to require approximately 5 hours per week for 4-6 weeks, with clearly defined tasks and deliverables. There may be a possibility of extension depending on project needs, funding availability, and quality of produced work.
Who this role is well suited for This role is well suited for a graduate student or postdoctoral-level early career professional seeking additional experience supporting grant-funded work in disability, autism, education, workforce, or policy-related systems. Candidates should be comfortable working independently on short-term research and synthesis tasks and interested in gaining hands-on experience with applied, systems-focused grant activities.
