The HIVE is here!

The HIVE's open house is Tuesday, March 24 from 4-6 pm at 421 Parker St., Fort Collins, CO

And you're invited!

This is an opportunity to see our complete transformation as we transition into opening Larimer County's first family justice center aka The HIVE (Hub for Information, Validation and Empowerment). You can connect with the community partners who, along with Crossroads, are providing essential support and resources to survivors and their families in your community. This is Northern Colorado's first hub for survivors of child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, trafficking and stalking.

Check out this link to register: The HIVE - Open House - Crossroads Safehouse

Light refreshments will be provided, feel free to drop in, connect, and say hi!

Behind the HIVE

Furniture is moving in, rooms are coming together, and new beginnings are awakening. Here's a sneak peek at our transformation. We can't wait to show you the work that's been done!

Volunteer of the Month

Yvonne is our March Volunteer of the Month! She volunteers with our Road to Home program and, throughout the past year, has assisted with the planning and project management for The HIVE. An organizational pro, she has been such an aid to the team and clients. We are also so impressed by her impact with getting The HIVE up and running—it would not have been as thought-through and smooth without her.

Connecting in Crisis

When *Annie came into shelter, she was unsure of what to expect. She had not felt safe in a long time and wasn't used to the quiet. Annie did not know what it meant to be supported, she was second-guessing herself every step of the way. During a crisis, Annie needed someone to listen. Our advocates stepped up, listening and engaging with Annie to help her through tough times. By remaining calm, and being there for Annie, our advocates were able to offer her the support she was seeking. Connection, and support are integral tenants of the work we do here at Crossroads, and our advocates are trained to be active, engaged listeners. They're here to be a shoulder to lean on when its needed most. Annie never forgot that moment, how calm our advocates were as they took the time to truly hear her, and all of her worries, and doubts.

Our advocates are trained to accommodate survivors needs, whether they are physical or emotional. We take pride in our ability to support survivors every step of the way, even after they leave shelter. Connecting with survivors helps us understand their needs and equips us with knowledge that improves our abilities to meet them where they're at.
