Dear Neighbor,
I would like to invite you to another moderated conversation on a different topic this Sunday, homelessness. I hope you’ll join me for an important discussion focused on one of the most urgent challenges facing our community.
Homelessness is complex. It touches housing affordability, mental health, addiction, and economic stability. Addressing it requires more than quick fixes, it requires honest conversations, shared responsibility, and a clear path forward.
This moderated conversation is an opportunity to bring people together, community members, service providers, local leaders, and those directly impacted, to talk about what’s working, what isn’t, and what we must do next.
Moderation Conversation About Homelessness
When: 4/19/2026 at 1-2:30pm
Where: Bethany Library Annex
RSVP: https://mobilize.us/s/VV2BXh
We’ll explore:
What’s driving homelessness in Washington County
What’s working and what needs to change
How we expand housing, prevention, and supportive services
What accountability and real progress should look like
Guest Speakers Include:
Michael Austin, Deputy Director with Just Compassion
Dorian Russell, Executive Director with HomePlate Youth Services
Vicente Vidal, Director of Supportive Housing Services with Bienestar
Nathan Teske, Executive Director with Bienestar
I believe that no one should use the streets as a waiting room for housing. Guests are joining to share their professional experience and perspectives. We need leadership that brings people together, focuses on real solutions, and ensures our systems are working for those who need them most.
I’m running for Washington County Chair because I believe we need leadership that doesn’t just react to crises but works proactively to solve them with compassion, accountability, and a clear vision for the future.
If you believe in that vision, I’m asking for your support. Campaigns like ours are powered by people, and every contribution helps us reach more voters and build a county that works for all of us.
Sincerely,
Nafisa Fai
