NOW ACCEPTING POLICY RESOLUTIONS FOR THE

2026 NACo Annual Conference

Submit policy resolutions by June 17

In preparation for the National Association of Counties (NACo) 2026 Annual Conference, we encourage members to get involved and have your voice heard in Washington by submitting a policy resolution or platform change.

All policy resolutions and platform changes must be submitted electronically using the portal on this page by Wednesday, June 17, 2026. For details on NACo's policy process, click here.

Policy resolutions are generally single-purpose documents addressing a specific issue or piece of legislation. Resolutions draw attention to a topic of current concern, clarify parts of the broadly worded platform or set policy in areas not covered by the platform. All policy resolutions, including interim policy resolutions submitted at the 2026 Legislative Conference, must be renewed.

Platform changes are permanent amendments to the American County Platform that broadly guide NACo's federal advocacy efforts and publicly state NACo's general policy goals. To submit a platform change, please upload a Word document to the submission portal utilizing underline and strikethrough to denote any additions or removals from the American County Platform.

The resolutions process provides members with the ability to participate in national policy decisions affecting county governments. During the 2026 Annual Conference, our 10 policy steering committees and the Board of Directors will consider legislative and policy resolutions to guide our advocacy until the NACo Annual Conference in July 2027.

Contact our Government Affairs staff with any questions regarding the policy resolution process.

Important Reminder

If you plan to submit a policy resolution, you (or a designated representative) must appear in person at the relevant policy steering committee meeting at the 2026 Annual Conference to introduce and explain the resolution.

Register for the 2026 NACo Annual Conference & Expo

NACo's 2026 Annual Conference & Exposition is the premier gathering of elected and appointed officials from the nation's 3,069 counties, parishes and boroughs.

The conference will include dozens of committee and caucus meetings, educational workshops, general sessions and more. Sessions will offer learning and best practices on the full range of county responsibilities and domestic policy issues. NACo membership will also elect new leadership and set the organization's policy priorities during the Annual Business Meeting.
