Good morning, Patti,
It is always great to hear from you. 😊
I am grateful for the heads up and was in the mix the last time this conversation happened, and the determination was to wait for the 2020 Census results. I think many of us were surprised the decennial census data didn’t attach Wellington to Fort Collins’ urbanized area. I recall Suzette and Commissioner Donnelly I believe at the time came to Wellington (May 2019) to provide a presentation to the Town Board. I would be happy to offer the same presentation to the current Board and bring Commissioner Stephens with me. I have included her and Brenda on this email, so you can attempt to coordinate calendars directly with Brenda. I am out of the office the week of June 8 but am available otherwise.
Thanks,
Elizabeth

Good morning, Elizabeth –
I hope you are enjoying your role at the NFRMPO! I was so happy to see your appointment as Executive Director—it seems like a perfect fit for you.
As you may be aware, I am now in Wellington, which is included in the TPR. One of my board members, Ed Cannon, is the former Town Administrator for Wellington (yes, it makes for a slightly awkward dynamic at times!). During his tenure, he worked on efforts to have Wellington join the MPO. Based on what he has shared with me, that effort appeared to be progressing favorably until opposition from the Weld County Commissioner appointee caused it to stall.
Mayor Rebekka Dailey has appointed Ed to represent Wellington at I-25 Coalition and TPR meetings moving forward, and he has renewed interest in exploring Wellington’s inclusion in the MPO. As a result, he may attend MPO meetings in the future to introduce himself to board members and begin networking on the topic.
I also know that my Board would appreciate the opportunity to have you present at a future meeting to provide an overview of the MPO and TPR, if your schedule allows.
I mainly wanted to give you a quick heads-up that Ed may be attending upcoming MPO meetings and to see if we might coordinate a date for you to present to the Wellington Board of Trustees.
Have a great day –
Patti

We have a plan!

Hi Brenda – We have regular meetings at 6:30 pm on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month and work sessions on the 3rd Tuesday.
The Board is at the CML conference on June 23 and July is pretty packed. What about August 11 or August 18?

Patti: Are your board meetings still on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month? What dates are you looking for? The earliest date would be June 23. Please advise so we can narrow down the dates. Thanks!
Sincerely,

I can make either August 11th or 18th work, so I will defer to Commissioner Stephens calendar.

Thank you everyone!

Hi Brenda –
The work session will be at 6:30 pm at the Leeper Center, 3800 Wilson Avenue. This item will be first on the agenda.
We generally set up the tables in a U-shape for work sessions which seems to provide for better discussions among the board. If the Commissioner would prefer to have the Trustees at the dias and have the presentation from a podium, please let me know and we will make the appropriate accommodations.

Hi all –
We need to postpone this presentation to a later date. The Larimer County Sheriff is scheduled to present on Flock cameras as part of the 2027 budget discussion at the same meeting. Since the Fort Collins vote regarding the use of Flock cameras, the topic has received significant public attention, and we expect a large number of residents to attend the August 18 work session.
The Mayor has indicated that she will allow public comment that evening, so it is likely to be a lengthy meeting.
I want to make sure the Board is fully engaged and able to give the MPO/TPR presentation the attention it deserves. Below are a few alternative dates, depending on your availability:
Please let me know which of these dates would work best for your team.
I apologize for the postponement and appreciate your flexibility.
Thank you -
Hi Patti,
No worries, I can make either 9/15 or 9/22 work.

Hello Patti. Thank you for reaching out. Commissioner Stephens is unavailable on 9/22 but can meet on 9/15. Please confirm if the 9/15 date works. Is the time still 6:30 at the Lepper Center?
