Chamber Endorses Community Capital Improvement Program Sales & Use Tax Renewal


Following a year-long evaluation process, the Fort Collins City Council has referred to the voters a request to continue the Community Capital Improvement Program (CCIP). 

If approved, this ¼-cent sales and use tax (groceries are exempt) would continue for another 10 years while generating an estimated $11M per year.  Targeted investment categories include transportation & mobility (42%), parks & recreation (25%), river & environment (20%), housing (10%), and cultural facilities (3%).

USDA Relocation Brings Millions in Economic Potential to Colorado



The Fort Collins Area Chamber has been a partner with the Common Sense Institute (CSI) since 2021. This partnership enables us to inspire new research while also showcasing the work that CSI does on a regular basis.

 

The USDA announced several weeks ago that Fort Collins has been identified as one of five new sites for regional hubs across the country.  We are thrilled to see Fort Collins on this opportunity list and are even more excited to share the analysis completed by CSI on the value of the USDA bringing jobs, workers, and opportunities to Colorado.

Fifth Annual Construction Con to Introduce Northern Colorado High School Students to Careers in Construction


The Northern Colorado Construction Sector Partnership (NOCO CSP) is excited to announce its fifth annual Construction Con event, taking place at the Ranch Events Complex in Loveland, Colorado, on Wednesday, October 15, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 3:30 PM. This hands-on, immersive experience will give 750 – 800 high school students from across Northern Colorado a unique opportunity to explore diverse career paths within the construction industry.

We’re currently seeking applications for two award categories:

  • Torch Awards for Ethics – for businesses in operation 3+ years and BBB Accredited Charity organizations.

  • Spark Award for Entrepreneurship – for businesses in operation at least 6 months but less than 3 years

The Flats at Hansen Farm Breaks Ground in Fort Collins, Expanding Local Housing with 255 New Apartment Homes


Affinity Partners and ARCO/Murray broke ground this week on The Flats at Hansen Farm, a new 255-unit apartment community located at 1970 Knobby Pine Drive and 5870 Burley Tree Drive in Fort Collins, Colorado. The September 23 event marked a key milestone for the project and drew strong attendance from project partners and members of the local community. Representatives from key project participants such as EZ Excavating, EPS Group, Studio PBA Architecture, Ripley Design, VFLA, and FirstBank were also present.


The project will span more than 314,000 square feet across seven three-story wood-frame garden-style buildings on a 10+ acre site, with phased turnover planned throughout construction.

Compost Queen Launches Food Waste Composting Pilot Program in Partnership with City of Fort Collins


The City of Fort Collins has launched a one-year food waste composting pilot program with Compost Queen to reduce landfill waste, cut emissions, and reach zero-waste goals. The partnership provides funding for up to 600 residents and 20 businesses to receive discounted drop-off or curbside composting service.


Enrollment opens September 25, 2025, for new Compost Queen customers located in Fort Collins, with service beginning in October. Accepted materials include all food scraps—meat, dairy, bones, produce, and more—that otherwise end up in the landfill. Spots are limited, so act quickly to secure your place.

2025 Regional Housing Needs Assessment



This 15-minute survey is for anyone who lives or works anywhere in Larimer County. The survey is part of a partnership between the County, Loveland, and Fort Collins to better understand regional housing issues and identify solutions to housing challenges. If you complete the survey by Friday, Nov. 21st, you can enter a drawing for a $100 Visa gift card. The survey asks about your housing situation, your housing preferences, and your opinions on addressing housing needs. It is not associated with any political party or election.
