Colorado State Forest Service - letter of support request for Congressionally Designated Spending

Good morning Commissioner Shadduck-McNally,

Hope your week is off to a good start. The Colorado State Forest Service intends to apply for FY 2027 Congressionally Designated Spending funding for two projects:

• Additional funds for the state seedling tree nursery (to build an additional greenhouse for increased tree production).
• Funding for Front Range Mountain Pine Beetle outbreak response.

This request is going through the offices of US Senators Bennet and Hickenlooper and requires a letter of support from a local or state official. I was hoping you might be willing to provide us with one?

I have attached 2 pre-written letters to this email. If you are willing, can you please tweak as you see fit, put on official letterhead, sign and send back to me? Fairly tight turnaround on this - I would need the letters by Thursday of this week (3/19).

Dear Weston and James,

Thank you again for the opportunity to support CSFS and this effort. With the timing and our processes it would have been a little bit of a challenge to get this done for the full board approval. I can explain this at a later date. We are also as a board sending in a Congressional request for help on an unrelated issue.
