Hello everyone. I want to update you on the good news on the Safeway/Albertson's "Neighbor to Neighbor"
program for Thompson Schools.
Many program changes were made by Safeway this year. KidsPak received one delivery of $12,000 or 240 $50 gift cards in early November. After a thoughtful discussion with Thompson Schools, it was decided to do one distribution at Christmas break. On Monday before break, KidsPak volunteers delivered to all schools requested gift cards.
I'm excited to report the community donations at Safeway stores. As you know, one of the stores was closed in October. The Wilson store received over $10,650 and the Taft store over $7,800. The total of $18,450 was AMAZING considering both stores have increased their self- checkout spaces.
KidsPak has inquired about the $6,300 overage. We are told it will hold over to next fall. Given our history,
KidsPak feels strongly that $20,000 in gift cards is possible for the fall.of 2026. In the last three years, KidPak has distributed nearly $80,000 in gift cards.
Three other updates, KidsPak last delivery for Christmas was 1,163 bags, highest in it's 15 year history. KidsPak
has completed half of its upgrades to the building courtsey of Senator Bennett and Hickenlooper. Pantries are
now up and running in ALL high schools.
Thank you for reading.
