Jody -- on Saturday morning, Trustee Kirby Hazelton will introduce you, and you will introduce Nancy Gedeon, a Colorado demographer with the Colorado State Demography Office, which is the primary state agency for population and demographic information, which is used by state agencies, local governments, and non-profit organizations.
Gedeon joined the State Demography Office in 2020 as the estimates demographer. She has experience with local government and community development, and is certified with the American Institute of Certified Planners (AICP). She has a bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and a master’s degree in urban planning and development from Cleveland State University.
The state's demography office is a division of the Department of Local Affairs.
The State Demography Office hosts an annual summit, which covers newly released population and employment estimates and forecasts, and new methods being used for calculating municipal population estimates.
