Government Leaders,

We do not support any acts of extremism or violence in our county.  We support the democratic process that is occurring here through this email - thank you for allowing us to write this letter.

We disagree with the vaccine passport that is being pushed forward in Larimer County.

1. Our freedoms are being stripped away. Everyone should have the right to make their own medical choices.

2. Our tax dollars are being spent in a manner that we did not approve. We do not support our tax dollars being spent to create a segregated, vaccination society through the passport.

3. Because of the mask mandate, beginning this week we are our shopping in Weld County and Cheyenne. We are also encouraging all our Larimer County friends to do the same.

Sincerely,
Erick and Angela Selgren

Government Leaders,

We were relieved to hear that the Larimer County Department of Health decided to postpone the vaccine passport. I encourage you to cancel it permanently. Besides the points we made in the email attached below, a passport would be devastating to the Larimer County economy.  Reportedly 35% of Larimer County citizens are unvaccinated and most of these citizens would rather shop in Weld County, Cheyenne and online than take an experimental vaccine.

Sincerely,
Erick and Angela Selgren

In case you haven't read this from our acquaintance:
"We strongly oppose the mask mandate on several grounds:
·     It is a scientific FACT that the vast majority of masks DO NOT PREVENT the aerosolized virus from passing through in either direction.
·        On the boxes of the “ear loop” blue and white disposable masks worn by the majority of people, it says “Not intended for medical use," and “This product will not provide any protection against Covid-19."
·        Only properly fitting N-95 masks provide protection against Covid-19 and these are not in common use.
·     It is a scientific FACT that mask wearing can cause bronchial and psychological HARM to people – especially children.
·     This mandate will further damage small businesses financially and put them in the untenable position of having to act as enforcers, which will drive away customers.

How many taxpayer-funded County Health employees missed a paycheck, or saw a reduction in pay because of the pandemic? ZERO.

Those who are at risk or who are fearful should have the OPTION of wearing masks. Those who have been vaccinated or have natural immunity by virtue of having had Covid-19 or who make a personal choice not to wear a mask SHOULD NOT be forced to do so against their will.

Covid-19 will never go away – it’s yet another virus on top of many we have to deal with. Is the Larimer County Health Department going to force mandates on the citizens of this county in perpetuity?

We support SUSTAINABLE, COMMON SENSE preventative measures that have been effective since the advent of modern medicine:
·        Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water
·        Avoid touching your face and eyes
·        Stay home if you are ill
·        Seek early medical attention and treatment if you have Covid-19 or flu-like symptoms

Enough is enough – no more unsustainable, unscientific mandates.

From the Dr. Fauci 60 Minutes Interview, March 8, 2020:
“There’s no reason to be walking around with a mask. When you’re in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better and it might even block a droplet, but it’s not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is. And, often, there are unintended consequences — people keep fiddling with the mask and they keep touching their face.” "

Good morning Erick and Angela,

appreciate you sharing with me your perspective.  And I do hear you.

One of the ongoing challenges with the pandemic is being able to hear all perspectives, while quickly moving forward with a policy to help prevent more COVID-19 hospitalizations in our already overburdened hospital system. We absolutely support and promote equity and fairness, and it was never our intention to move a voluntary program forward which is not equitable. Thus, the program has been put on pause indefinitely until we can hear all perspectives.  After we conclude this input period, we will determine if, and how the program will move forward.  We have several businesses that were already verifying vaccines (prior to the mask order) and requested this program as a voluntary option.  We are trying to balance all concerns, while providing options.

The COVID-19 vaccines are not experimental. That is simply not true and misguided information. For more information and the science on COVID-19 vaccines please visit our FAQ website at

Thank you for taking the time to share your concerns with us.  -Tom

Thank you for replying, Tom.  If businesses want to verify vaccinations, that's their choice, but taxpayers should not be forced to fund these endeavors.

From all the research we have completed and what we have witnessed among all our family & friends, natural immunity is amazingly effective. Why isn't natural immunity factored in for all these decisions?  Kevin Lundberg says it well:

"...Notably absent from all of these orders is any accommodation for individuals who have attained natural immunity by recovering from the disease. Their orders ring hollow in the light of their failure to accept the strong evidence that natural immunity is the most effective means of protection from contracting the disease. Whatever happened to “following the science?”

...Many of us have real concerns about how natural immunity is not recognized as at least as effective as vaccines, and we have strong concerns with medical protocols that do not allow the use of off patent drugs that have been effective for many recovering from COVID. But the government seems to be trying to brand such attitudes (and people) as subversive and dangerous agents of misinformation."
