"We strongly oppose the mask mandate on several grounds:
· It is a scientific FACT that the vast majority of masks DO NOT PREVENT the aerosolized virus from passing
through in either direction.
· On the boxes of the “ear loop” blue and white disposable masks worn by the majority of people, it
says “Not intended for medical use," and “This product will not provide any protection against Covid-19."
· Only properly fitting N-95 masks provide protection against Covid-19 and these are not in common
use.
· It is a scientific FACT that mask wearing can cause bronchial and psychological HARM to people – especially
children.
· This mandate will further damage small businesses financially and put them in the untenable position
of having to act as enforcers, which will drive away customers.
How many taxpayer-funded County Health employees missed a paycheck, or saw a reduction in pay because of the pandemic? ZERO.
Those who are at risk or who are fearful should have the OPTION of wearing masks. Those who have been vaccinated or have natural immunity by virtue of having had Covid-19 or who make a
personal choice not to wear a mask SHOULD NOT be forced to do so against their will.
Covid-19 will never go away – it’s yet another virus on top of many we have to deal with. Is the Larimer County Health Department going to force mandates on the citizens of this county
in perpetuity?
We support SUSTAINABLE, COMMON SENSE preventative measures that have been effective since the advent of modern medicine:
· Wash
your hands thoroughly with soap and water
· Avoid
touching your face and eyes
· Stay
home if you are ill
· Seek
early medical attention and treatment if you have Covid-19 or flu-like symptoms
Enough is enough – no more unsustainable, unscientific
mandates.
From the Dr. Fauci 60 Minutes Interview, March 8, 2020:
“There’s no reason
to be walking around with a mask. When you’re in the middle of an outbreak, wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better and it might even block a droplet, but it’s not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is. And, often,
there are unintended consequences — people keep fiddling with the mask and they keep touching their face.” "
