You may recognize my name as someone who made a claim against Larimer County in 2023. Thank you for taking my claim seriously and handling the claim with respect. I write to you as a constituent who would like to discuss your help in addressing a glaring issue with the licensing of attorneys in Colorado. Long story short- I was sexually assaulted by an assistant district attorney when I was an intern in his office 20 years ago. It has been determined that he is allowed to keep his law license while being a registered sex offender.

One of the many news stories about the prosecution can be seen here: https://www.cbsnews.com/colorado/news/former-northern-colorado-chief-district-attorney-pleads-guilty-sexual-assault-court-intern/

I have requested that the rules governing lawyers be changed to include sex offenses as serious crimes that need to be considered in discipline. The committee would not make that change, and the other rule changes are being presented to the state supreme court for public comment this month. I would like to make a concerted effort to draw this issue to the court's attention and hopefully get the media involved.

I would love to chat with you at any time of day or night to see if you have interest in supporting this. I can't believe in 2025 this is an issue that needs to be addressed, but here we are.

Thanks for your consideration,
