Dear Poudre School District community,

We are proud to introduce two new principals and two new directors who, along with their teams, support our students, families and staff every day.

Below is a brief introduction of each district leader, along with a hyperlink to their hiring announcement that tells you a little more about them. They are listed in alphabetical order.

Desiree Fisher | Director of Transportation

From bus driver to router, dispatcher, trainer, manager and director, Desiree Fisher brings over 20 years of bus industry experience to PSD in her new role as the director of transportation. Fisher began work for PSD a little over a month ago and comes from Florida, where she has experience with both transit and school buses. Before coming to Colorado, Fisher had experience in large school districts such as Duval County Schools in Florida, which serves over 200 schools with an average of a thousand bus routes, Forsyth County Schools in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, along with smaller charter school districts as well. In her new position, Fisher says she is excited to grow and experience everything Fort Collins has to offer. Read more about Fisher on the PSD website. >>

Troy Krotz | Principal of Wellington Middle-High School:

Troy Krotz will add 30 years of educational experience to the team at WMHS, as he steps into the role of principal for the 2023-24 school year. Krotz has served as the principal of Poudre School District’s Poudre Community Academy (PCA), the Journey Program for Expelled Students, and the assistant director of Student Outreach. His philosophy is to provide every student with a quality education in a safe and supportive environment. This happens, he said, by working with a strong staff dedicated to high expectations, clear goals, and a shared belief that all students can be successful. Dr. Jodie Rommel | Director of Integrated Services (special education)

Dr. Jodie Rommel brings 20 years of special education leadership experience with her as she takes on her new role as director of PSD's Integrated Services Department.  Dr. Rommel, who began work for PSD in June, comes from the University of Northern Colorado, School of Special Education, in Greeley where she was an assistant professor and special education director program coordinator. Prior to that, she was the exceptional student services coordinator in Thompson School District in Loveland. She also served as director of a special education program in South America for several years. In her new position, Dr. Rommel is looking forward to collaborating with PSD staff to build on student success. Dr. Jen Roth | Principal of Fort Collins High School

Students and staff at FCHS have a new principal who has already been a Lambkin for two decades. Dr. Jennifer Roth, an assistant principal at FCHS, will begin work in her new role as principal on July 12. Dr. Roth joined the Lambkin community in 2003, teaching French for several years before becoming dean of students in 2009 and then assistant principal in 2012. “What I love about Fort Collins High is being a part of a community of students, staff, and families who celebrate the rich history and traditions of the school and at the same time are committed to being innovative to meet the challenges of the future,” she said.
