HEAT ALERT: Help Keep Our Neighbors Safe in Dangerous Heat As temperatures rise across Denver, our neighbors experiencing homelessness are especially vulnerable. That’s why Denver Rescue Mission is opening our cooling center at our Lawrence Street facility every day from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., offering a safe place to come inside, cool down and get help. This lifesaving work is only possible because of friends like you. Your prayers, volunteer service and financial support help make it possible to respond quickly when extreme weather puts lives at risk—not only during the heat of summer, but all year long. As you go about your weekend, please keep an eye out for neighbors in need. Offer water when you can. Help point people without shelter toward a safe place to go.
