Hi, John and Dr. Bernie
As you know, Mountain Ministries has submitted a proposal to DU to locate a primary care clinic on The Kennedy Mountain Campus between Red Feather Lakes and Livermore. The assistant director of the KMC spent several hours offering Annie and me an extensive tour of the campus yesterday. She confirmed that she passed our proposal on to the executive director who has sent it to Stuart Halsall, the vice chancellor of student affairs, so it's working its way up the chain of command. She was very encouraging, even showing us the location on RFL road which they are proposing.
Annie and I are working on a detailed business plan which will confirm the Mountain Ministries donation of the building, use of the campus land, and our intention to work with the USDA to help with funding the site development. We need help with the language in the business plan to limit DU's liability, estimate their insurance and maintenance expenses, and address the amount of income DU can expect from the lease payment.
I'm writing to ask if there is someone at UCHealth who can help us with the business plan. We'd like to find out what UCHealth pays to rent clinic space in northern Colorado and their lease language to address the liability and responsibilities of their landlords. Perhaps UCHealth would even be willing to share a landlords's typical business plan with us. This would not only help us to secure the KMC location, but it would also help us to find a provider.
The assistant director specifically mentioned that DU was impressed by your letter, John, and by the letter from Senator Marchman. We can't tell you how much we appreciate your support.
Cynthia
