What's it about? With America's democratic experiment mired in division and dysfunction, the state of Alaska votes to revolutionize their election system. The surprising results spark new alliances, a growing call for election reform, and fierce pushback from political parties. Could changing how Americans vote also change politics for the better? Majority Rules is a new documentary from director AJ Schnack that explores this question.

Alaska has already implemented an Open Primaries and Final Four (RCV) voting method. This documentary explores how this affects the way candidates approach their campaigns. Not to spoil the ending but a Republican candidate (Senator Lisa Murkowski) endorsed a Democratic candidate (Rep. Mary Peltola), and vice versa! That could NEVER happen with our current voting method. 

With Open Primaries and Final Four (RCV) on our statewide ballot in November, Proposition 131 will fundamentally change the way we vote in Colorado. Why is that important?  Because all voters should have the freedom to vote for any candidate, regardless of party, in every taxpayer funded election. And all candidates should be required to earn a majority of the vote in order to win an election.
