Cereal Box Concert: A Heartwarming Success for the Wellington Community Services Center
The first-ever Cereal Box Concert was a resounding success, bringing together our community in support of a crucial cause: the Wellington Community Services Center, which will be the new home of the Wellington Food Pantry. The event was more than just a concert; it was a celebration of community spirit and generosity.
With over 200 attendees, the energy at the Wellington Manor was high as neighbors, friends, and supporters gathered to enjoy a night of music, laughter, and giving. The evening’s success was evident in the incredible $10,500 raised, along with 348 boxes of cereal donated. These contributions will go a long way in supporting the vital services offered by the Wellington Food Pantry.
A special thanks goes to our hosts, Lisa Christopherson and Kristi Cannon of Wellington Manor.
The night wouldn’t have been complete without the lively tunes of Funky Business, whose performance kept everyone on their feet, dancing the night away in food-inspired costumes.
This event was truly a community effort, and we are grateful for the support of our sponsors: Advanced Tank, Estate Gardening, Park Creek Nursery, Meridian Trust, Houska Automotive, Rod & Jamie Rice, RBC Wealth Management, and TDS Telecom. Their generosity and commitment to our cause played a pivotal role in the concert’s success.
We also want to extend our deepest thanks to our volunteers, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes: Jeanne & Jim Matsuda, Joanna Leeke, Helen Gracy, Janelle Emde, and The Rockabilly Vixins. Your hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed and were integral to the smooth running of the event.
A heartfelt shout-out goes to Chris & Barbi Burton for believing in our vision from the very start and to Erin Nash for her fierce support. Your passion and belief in our mission have been truly inspiring.
It Takes a Village, and we are grateful you have chosen to be part of ours. We appreciate your commitment to help bring this vision to life: providing a comprehensive and accessible array of essential public services to individuals and families in need in the Wellington region.
For the first time, upon completion of the Community Services Center of Wellington, residents will be able to access emergency and basic needs services in one building, close to home. Little by little, this dream will become a reality.
