Hello Commissioner Kefalas 🙂
Our Principal, Tom Schachet, said you talked with him at the Future Planning meeting with Brian Kingsley at CLP earlier this week and that you were interested in any future meetings we might plan with our community.  Well we are planning a follow up meeting at Stove Prairie Elementary, and we'd love to invite you to join us.

When: February 25th
Time: 6:00pm
Where: Stove Prairie Elementary

Here is the email we are sending out to our families...

Dear Mountain Schools Families,

We are writing to invite you to a community conversation focused on sharing what makes our small, rural Mountain Schools special.

Poudre School District is currently engaging in a long-range comprehensive planning process to better understand enrollment trends, facility use, and how the district can best support students now and into the future. As part of this work, the district is gathering input from school communities across PSDSD.

This meeting is not about decisions or proposals. Instead, it is an opportunity for our community to:

  • Share what is most important about our Mountain Schools
  • Highlight the strengths, values, and unique needs of our rural setting
  • Provide thoughtful input to help the planning committee better understand who we are and what matters to our families

During the meeting, we will review a brief overview of the district’s planning work and engage in guided discussion around three reflection questions provided by the district. Notes from the conversation will be compiled and shared with the district’s Comprehensive Planning Committee so that our community’s voice is included.

Meeting Details
Date: Wednesday, February 25th
Time: 6:00pm
Location: Stove Prairie Elementary

Please bring snacks to share if you wish.
Children are welcome, but childcare will not be provided as staff will be engaged in the meeting, so each family will be responsible for their own children.

All families are welcome and encouraged to attend. Your perspective is valuable, and this is an important opportunity to ensure our Mountain Schools are clearly and accurately represented.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to the school office.

We hope you will join us.

Warmly,
Tom Schachet
Principal, PSD Mountain Schools

I believe Livermore and Red Feather will also be putting together community meetings in their area as well, so you may hear from them too.
Anyways, I hope you can make it.  Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you for your time 🙂
Lisa

Hello Commissioner,

Thank you for getting back with me so quickly.  We would be honored to have both you and Commissioner Stephens at our meeting, so thank you for passing on the information.
I am CC'ing Principal Schachet and the secretaries at both Red Feather and Livermore, so that they can be in the loop and reach out to you with their meeting dates.
We look forward to seeing you soon, and thank you again for taking the time in your busy schedule to meet with us.🙂
Have a great day!

Hello Lisa,

Thank you for this kind and gracious invitation to attend the Stove Prairie Elementary meeting on February 25th, and I am very interested in attending this one to listen and learn more about what folks have to say regarding the topics to be discussed. May I invite Commissioner Stephens to attend since she has held community meetings at the Stove Prairie School? I am also interested in attending the RFL and Livermore School meetings. Please inform Tom that the county is planning a conservation/land use related community meeting at the Livermore Community Hall on Thursday, 3/12, in the early evening (details TBD) and the Livermore FPD is having their annual appreciation dinner at the Forks on Friday, 2/20. I will be in RFL for my March community conversation on the 26th, 12-1:30 PM at the POA/CA Building. Be well and have a nice rest of your day.
