| This project will work to develop a comprehensive woody biomass strategy for Larimer County with a focus on liability biomass management. Our goal is to further wildfire mitigation efforts, climate resilience, and the ability of our natural systems to store carbon. |

| | Through October and beginning of November, the team continued to engage with the community and published a BETA version of the Larimer County Woody Biomass Estimate Dashboard. |
| |
| Continued onsite engagement at the end of October |
| |
| The last week of October, the project team spent time engaging community partners locally and across the state! Additionally, a group of our Advisory Team members participated in an in-depth work session as we look towards actionable solution sets. |

| | Presentation at the Colorado Mass Timber Coalition Conference |
| Over 100 attendees participated in this year's Colorado Mass Timber Coalition Conference from foresters, mass timber manufacturers, government partners, and students. Right in the County's backyard, at Colorado State University, we were excited to share an update and overview of our Woody Biomass Study & Strategy Project. |

| Touring a hyperlocal processor of small diameter material |
| Andy Hinz, of Golden West Pine Mills, develops an engineered wood product from 5" to 12" diameter logs as a result of fire mitigation efforts. An awardee of the USFS Wood Innovations Grant, their team is looking to increase production from roughly half a million board feet annually to almost 2 million board feet in the coming years! |

| Earlier this week, the project team shared an update to the broader community. In the webinar we discussed themes identified through over 50 stakeholders interviewed, provided an overview of estimated woody biomass volume & characterization in Larimer County, and shared an evaluation framework that will be used to identify solution sets in the final phase of the project. Thanks to all of you who joined us! If you missed the webinar, check out the presentation and recording on our Woody Biomass Strategy webpage. |

| Release of the Larimer County Woody Biomass Estimate Dashboard (BETA Version) |
| | We are excited to share with you the Larimer County Woody Biomass Estimate Dashboard (BETA version). This dashboard serves an interactive tool that provides an estimate of woody biomass across Larimer County. It is being released in a beta version so that partners and end users can test the tool, helping us identify needed revisions. Browse the tool and provide us feedback via this Feedback Form! |

| | As we head into the holiday season, the consultant team and project partners are heavy at work outlining and formalizing findings from the tremendous collaborative effort put into this project thus far. Stay tuned for more opportunities to be engaged! If you would like to connect to discuss woody biomass analysis or utilization please reach out to Alicia Blake (ali...@cambiumcarbon.com). |

| | In some cases, the volume of woody biomass generated through wildfire mitigation or forest health treatments is unmanageable and hampers the ability to easily undertake these treatment efforts. Simultaneously, there exists various potential avenues to utilize the wood. A local, common understanding of these associated challenges is paramount to increasing the pace and scale of wildfire risk reduction.
Underscored by a belief in the power of collaboration and coordination, we believe that together can work toward a future where a resolution of this challenge is realized. Please join us in our attempt to better understand this issue locally and with nuance, and help us in our effort to develop an action-ready strategy for the way forward. |
