| How Initiative #195’s Progressive Tax Structure Would Affect Colorado’s Economy Initiative #195 would increase the tax and fee burden on Coloradans, moving Colorado from the 37th-highest state for total taxes and fees collected per resident to 33rd-highest nationally. CSI's analysis finds that a progressive income tax structure could result in the loss of approximately 14 businesses each year and nearly $200 million in corporate profits due to interstate business migration.

High Theft, Higher Costs: Motor Vehicle Theft in Colorado Colorado had the nation's worst auto theft rate between 2020 and 2022. The state placed 2nd in 2023 and 2024, behind New Mexico both years. CSI analysis estimates that Colorado households pay $201 million more in combined vehicle insurance premiums each year due to the state’s high motor vehicle theft rate.
