Hello Mr. Kefalas,

It was really great to see your presentation on Wednesday evening this week. My name is Mia Ritter, and you gave me your card after my ICWA presentation so I could forward you my letter. I have attached it to this email. I hope to hear from you sometime in the near future!

All the best,

Hello Mr. Kefalas,

It's been a while! My name is Mia Ritter and we met a few weeks ago when you presented to ASCSU Student Government and I presented my Indian Child Welfare Act (ICWA) Bill right after! I wanted to reach out to your because I am running for elections for Student Body President of ASCSU at CSU. I am running with Sammy Trout who is another Senator/Chair in ASCSU was wondering if you would be willing to give us your endorsement for our campaign? I'm attaching our flyer and our social media if you would also like to keep up with what we're up to. Sammy and I have been as part of ASCSU for 5+ years and we see so much potential for incredible change with: Transparency, Accountability, and Inclusion. If you would also like to chat over the phone or set up a meeting, I would love to connect with you again!

Hello Mia,

I read the ICWA letter, and congratulate you and your native colleagues for preparing a well-written and compelling document. I am more than willing to add my name to this letter, if you think such an addition would be helpful to this important cause and noting that the letter refers to student government associations. I suggest you list me as John Kefalas, CSU Alum and Larimer County Commissioner. I have attached my electronic signature if needed and would welcome an opportunity to meet with the Native American Cultural Center folks to continue our dialogue and conversation about equity, diversity and inclusion. I know that I have much to learn about the lived experience of Native American Indigenous people, and thank you for your consideration of my request and for this opportunity to participate in your advocacy work to protect the ICWA of 1978.

We, the Student Government Associations of [number universities] colleges and universities have written this letter to support the protection and maintaining of the Indian Child Welfare Act,
and the continued protection of Native families, Native land, and tribal sovereignty.
