Harmony Village NEEDS Linton, Please think this through!

Hello All!
I am writing to you today as a parent of 3 PSD students, aged 17, 15, and 8, who all were able to get their start as early as the PreK programs right here at Linton Elementary. I am also a community leader at Harmony Village Mobile Home Park.
I've been watching from the start as a lot of our parents have been concerned about the mention of Lintons closure from the get go. Now this news of being on 5 of the planned scenarios has become a point of major concerns and even fears… What are our families going to do? You have now listed not 1, but 3 of our schools being considered: Linton, Boltz and Preston.
What are you thinking? From my side of things you aren't thinking this through at all.
As a mobile home community leader not just for the voices of Harmony Village, but all mobile home parks in Larimer County I need you all to make sure that you are fully thinking through these consequences not just for Harmony but for all of us.
In my community alone we have 486 units and at least half of my community is all kinds of cultured families with anywhere from one child to multiple. I would imagine that at Harmony Village alone we have an average of 500 kids of all ages to be thinking about.
We already have so many barriers that I have now spent 3 years myself advocating and pushing to change. From food and resource needs and insecurities, to continual threats of evictions from the very homes we own, to the need to have almost every able bodied person in our homes, including teens, working to provide for the outrageous rent costs. Now you want to add additional barriers to this already ever growing list?
Please consider these things…
Transportation
A lot of our family units do not have a reliable transportation option. This can be both by choice, as we are in minutes of most of what we need, or necessity and unattainability. Many homes and family units share vehicles for parents to get to work and kids to school. A lot of times we are left to make that decision to walk to and from the school because Dad had to go to work with the only vehicle.
Busing
The first point to state is don't we already have a bus driver shortage in the district? It took me 5 years to get our community bus stop that’s at Harmony Village moved inside more for safety concerns. I've spent so many years screaming at people and jumping in front of cars for kids just within my community. It took me getting a State Representative, the Chief of Police, and the Larimer Sheriff involved before you even listened to all of our safety concerns on that, then we had to work with our Corp Managers to make it official. Now we have 5 buses that come and go in Harmony. It takes 3 hours in the morning from 6:59 am to 9 am to run them and then again in the afternoon from 2:59 pm until about 6 pm. You want to add a few more buses to this?
Safety in General
For the last 12 years that I have been having my kids in the district I have even myself mainly chosen to drive my kids to the school for safety. Even being in walking distance. I didn't even like our kids crossing our busy entry in our community. Now you want our kids to go to schools that cross some of the busiest streets we have. Harmony is now a 6 lane road and accidents right there at Harmony and Snow Mesa weekly. The other option was to go to Kruse which has been stated is 1.5 miles and 30+ mins to get there. You will have loss of our children's lives by trying to choose any of those options. Please remember that due to the need to have our parents work so many hours the reality is we have a whole lot of “latch key kids” in the community. Please don't add to our stress as parents of them already being at home, to now needing to worry about how they will get home.
Food Insecurity
The reality is in a lot of places, not just ours, that food is a need. Our pantries are not enough to sustain that need at times. We get Lunch Lab but that is only once a week. Right now Linton is our summer time spot that our kids can safely get to and acquire the food they need to get through.
Early Childhood Access
As far as I am aware right now Linton and Traut are the only schools that have the Early Childhood Education Program. Most of us choose Linton because again Traut is across a 6 lane highway to access for us. You also want to stunt the education access for our youngest kids which from age 2 to 7 is such important brain development years?
Please truly think through the consequences of these actions. Right now what's proposed I do agree is unethical, dangerous, and inequitable. Please do not put my children, and my community's children's lives on the line for your budget.

Le escribo hoy como padre de 3 estudiantes de PSD, de 17, 15 y 8 años, quienes pudieron comenzar tan temprano como los programas de PreK aquí en la Primaria Linton. También soy líder comunitario en Harmony Village Mobile Home Park.
He estado observando desde el principio cómo muchos de nuestros padres han estado preocupados por la mención del cierre de Linton desde el principio. Ahora esta noticia de estar en 5 de los escenarios previstos se ha convertido en un punto de grandes preocupaciones e incluso temores… ¿Qué van a hacer nuestras familias? Ahora ha enumerado no 1, sino 3 de nuestras escuelas que se están considerando: Linton, Boltz y Preston.
¿Qué estás pensando? Desde mi punto de vista, no estás pensando en esto en absoluto.
Como líder de la comunidad de casas móviles, no solo por las voces de Harmony Village, sino por todos los parques de casas móviles en el condado de Larimer, necesito que todos se aseguren de pensar detenidamente en estas consecuencias no solo para Harmony sino para todos nosotros.
Solo en mi comunidad tenemos 486 unidades y al menos la mitad de mi comunidad está compuesta por todo tipo de familias cultas con desde uno hasta varios hijos. Me imagino que sólo en Harmony Village tenemos un promedio de 500 niños de todas las edades en quienes pensar.

Desde las necesidades e inseguridades de alimentos y recursos, hasta las continuas amenazas de desalojo de las mismas casas que poseemos, y la necesidad de que casi todas las personas sanas en nuestros hogares, incluidos los adolescentes, trabajen para cubrir los escandalosos costos del alquiler. ¿Ahora desea agregar barreras adicionales a esta lista que ya está en constante crecimiento?
Por favor considere estas cosas...
Transporte
Muchas de nuestras unidades familiares no tienen una opción de transporte confiable. Esto puede ser tanto por elección, ya que estamos en minutos de la mayor parte de lo que necesitamos, o por necesidad e inalcanzabilidad. Muchos hogares y unidades familiares comparten vehículos para que los padres vayan al trabajo y los niños a la escuela. Muchas veces nos toca tomar esa decisión de caminar hacia y desde la escuela porque papá tenía que ir a trabajar con el único vehículo.
autobús
El primer punto a señalar es ¿no tenemos ya una escasez de conductores de autobús en el distrito? Me tomó 5 años lograr que nuestra parada de autobús comunitaria que está en Harmony Village se moviera hacia adentro por razones de seguridad. He pasado muchos años gritándole a la gente y saltando frente a los autos para niños dentro de mi comunidad. Me tomó involucrar a un representante estatal, al jefe de policía y al sheriff de Larimer antes de que escucharan todas nuestras preocupaciones de seguridad al respecto, luego tuvimos que trabajar con nuestros gerentes corporativos para hacerlo oficial. Ahora tenemos 5 autobuses que van y vienen en Armonía. Se necesitan 3 horas por la mañana, de 6:59 a. m. a 9 a. m., para ejecutarlos y luego nuevamente por la tarde, desde 2:59 p. m. hasta aproximadamente las 6 p. m. ¿Quieres añadir algunos autobuses más a esto?
Seguridad en general
Durante los últimos 12 años que he tenido a mis hijos en el distrito, incluso yo mismo he elegido principalmente llevar a mis hijos a la escuela por seguridad. Incluso estando a poca distancia. Ni siquiera me gustaba que nuestros hijos cruzaran nuestra concurrida entrada a nuestra comunidad. Ahora queremos que nuestros niños vayan a escuelas que cruzan algunas de las calles más transitadas que tenemos. Harmony ahora es una carretera de 6 carriles y hay accidentes allí mismo en Harmony y Snow Mesa semanalmente. La otra opción era ir a Kruse, que según se indicó está a 1,5 millas y más de 30 minutos para llegar allí. Si intenta elegir cualquiera de esas opciones, perderá la vida de nuestros hijos. Recuerde que debido a la necesidad de que nuestros padres trabajen tantas horas, la realidad es que tenemos muchos "niños con llave" en la comunidad. Por favor, no aumente nuestro estrés como padres porque ellos ya están en casa y ahora tenemos que preocuparnos por cómo llegarán a casa.
Inseguridad alimentaria
La realidad es que en muchos lugares, no sólo en el nuestro, la comida es una necesidad. Nuestras despensas a veces no son suficientes para sostener esa necesidad. Recibimos Lunch Lab, pero solo una vez por semana. En este momento, Linton es nuestro lugar de verano al que nuestros niños pueden llegar de manera segura y adquirir los alimentos que necesitan para sobrevivir.
Acceso a la primera infancia
Hasta donde yo sé, en este momento Linton y Traut son las únicas escuelas que tienen el Programa de Educación Infantil Temprana. La mayoría de nosotros elegimos Linton porque nuevamente Traut está al otro lado de una autopista de 6 carriles para acceder a nosotros. ¿También quiere impedir el acceso a la educación de nuestros niños más pequeños, que son años tan importantes para el desarrollo cerebral entre los 2 y los 7 años?
Por favor, piense realmente en las consecuencias de estas acciones. En este momento estoy de acuerdo en que lo que se propone es poco ético, peligroso e injusto. Por favor, no ponga en riesgo la vida de mis hijos y de los niños de mi comunidad por su presupuesto.
