Dear Larimer County Commissioners,

I am writing to you today feeling incredibly overwhelmed and hoping you can help. Recently, a chemical spill caused significant damage to our home and our neighborhood driveway on July 16th.

We are extremely worried about the safety and environmental impacts, but despite our efforts, we have not been able to get a call back from the county health and environmental department.

Could you please assist us in getting someone from the department to reach out? We are desperate for guidance and support to handle this situation properly.

Thank you for your time, compassion, and any assistance you can provide.

Sincerely,
Kevin Flowers

Dear Kevin:

Thank you for reaching out, again I'm sorry to hear about the situation you're experiencing. I can certainly understand why this has been so stressful for you.

I have asked Larimer County Public Health Director Tom Gonzales to ensure that someone from his team reaches out to you as soon as possible. Even if this situation ultimately falls outside of the Health Department's jurisdiction, I have asked that they connect with you to better understand what happened and help point you toward the appropriate resources or agencies that may be able to assist.

I hope someone from the department will be in touch with you soon. In the meantime, please know that we appreciate you bringing this to our attention, and I hope you're able to get the guidance you need.

Take care,

Commissioner Jody Shadduck-McNally
Chair, Larimer County Board of County Commissioners
