Good morning Ron,

Thank you for sharing the article, I saw it the other day and appreciateĀ you sending it to me.Ā  I'm not surprised by all these various initiatives, some states needed to fix gaps in their system. Colorado went through its tax reform process thisĀ summer at the capital, but not at the ballot box.Ā  I'm glad state lawmakers in Colorado came together this year to cut property taxes and give a type of portability option on the senior exemption for those who moved within the state and lost it, far back as 2020.Ā  In 2021, I was an early supporter of granting a portabilityĀ option for the senior exemption.Ā  Last week, voters in the state supported AmendmentĀ G, allowing more veterans with a disability to qualify for the Veterans Exemption. It's niceĀ we still look for ways to say thank you and give support and appreciationĀ to our veterans.Ā  Latest numbers have Colorado, being the third lowest on property taxes in the country.Ā  https://www.rocketmortgage.com/learn/property-taxes-by-state

Happy VeteransĀ Day!

Hello Ron,

ThankĀ you for sendingĀ the interesting WSJ article, which I've read and saved for futureĀ reference. There are pros and cons to the property tax measures described in the article, and in Colorado we shall see how effective the annual 5.5% property tax revue cap will be, and I am glad thatĀ the voters approved the homestead property tax exemption to another class of veterans. Happy Veterans Day. Be well and had fun distributingĀ coats and boots at Putnam Elementary last week.
