August 2023 Newsletter

“August is the slow, gentle month that stretches out the longest across the span of a year. It yawns and lingers on with the light in its palms.”
— Victoria Erickson

It's not Goodbye, it's we'll see you later

Jordyn Pearson

Jordyn Pearson has been our Executive Assistant and Training Coordinator for the last 2 years! She recently accepted a position as the Program Director for CHOW (Culinary, Hospitality, Outreach, Wellness). We are sad to see her leave, but know that she will absolutely crush it in her new career! Jordyn has a background in Psychology as well as many years in the food and beverage industry. In her spare time she enjoys being outdoorsy aka spending time on patios. You can still find her in the community with a smile on her face and a dad joke ready to brighten your day! Cheers to you, Jordyn! You will be missed at ASP!

ASP August Birthdays

She is passionate about crisis response, postvention work, and community building. During her off time, Kimberly spends time backpacking, cooking, hanging out with her family. Kimberly’s super power is her ability to remain calm and clear headed in a crisis.

Meet our new Student Intern

Matthew Stachniak -
Student Intern

Matthew is a Colorado native and Psychology student at Colorado State University here in Fort Collins. Using his knowledge and experiences with mental health, recovery, and the LGBT+ communities, along with his psychology training, Matthew is here to help with a smile on his face and a joke ready to go! Matthew finds his deepest life’s meaning in helping others. As such, he is thrilled to be joining Alliance for Suicide Prevention of Larimer County, and ultimately plans to dedicate his life to serving others as a mental health provider.  Matthew’s superpower is being able to practice compassion, empathy, and thoughtfulness towards all parties in difficult conflicts or situations. In his spare time, he enjoys music, movies, gaming, hiking, yoga, meditation, and spending time with loved ones.
