Get to know the Estes Park Wedding Association The Estes Park Wedding Association (EPWA) has been around for 25+ years and entering a new phase of strategic growth with a clear focus on strengthening connections between locally based wedding businesses and the region’s expanding destination wedding market. Under the leadership of President Thomas Pemberton, owner of Estes Park Tour Guides, the association is emphasizing intentional member growth without compromising professional standards. “My focus is building our membership with locally based companies in Estes Park,” said Pemberton. “Since stepping into the role just three months ago, we’ve already voted in three new member businesses, with seven more expected after the new year.” A major component of EPWA’s forward strategy is its newly completed financial valuation of the Estes Park wedding market. The association has established a conservative valuation upwards of $46 million in direct annual wedding-related spending, which exceeds $106 million when standard tourism and hospitality financial multipliers are applied. “We now have defensible data that clearly defines the economic impact of weddings + overnight lodging in Estes Park,” said Pemberton. “This allows us to properly align with the ‘heads in beds’ model that Visit Estes Park is built upon and to establish a clear expectation for future advertising and media support for the wedding sector.” By defining wedding-driven overnight stays as a core economic driver—rather than a secondary or ancillary market—EPWA is positioning weddings as a measurable tourism asset for the community. At the same time, EPWA is aligning its growth strategy based on key industry trends, particularly the rising demand for micro weddings(< 60) and elopements, which will be a formal area of focus for 2026. “Micro weddings and elopements are one of the fastest-growing segments of the wedding market, and Estes Park will continue to lead in that space,” Pemberton added. “My goal for 2026 is to grow that segment while ensuring couples are connected with the best in class and trusted local professionals.” Importantly, EPWA leadership emphasizes that its membership standards remain unchanged. Rather than lowering criteria to increase volume, the association is actively identifying and vetting local businesses that already meet EPWA’s professional benchmarks. “Our standards are not being waived,” said Pemberton. “My focus is on actively seeking out qualified local Estes businesses that already meet our eligibility requirements and inviting them into the association.”  With renewed leadership, expanding local membership, a defined micro-wedding strategy, and a data-backed economic valuation, the Estes Park Wedding Association continues to strengthen its role as a key driver of both business collaboration and long-term destination growth.

Club House Fairway Tavern to Open May 1, Led by Michelin-Trained Chef Caleb Gafner Club House Fairway Tavern will open May 1 at the Estes Park 18-Hole Golf Course, led by Michelin-trained Chef Caleb Gafner and his father, restaurateur Sean Gafner of Gafner Hospitality Group. The new restaurant and bar brings a casual American menu, a strong cocktail program, and a refreshed dining experience to the golf course - designed for both golfers and non-golfers looking for a place to sit down, eat well, and take in the view. The opening marks a generational moment for Gafner Hospitality Group, as Caleb steps into the role after training and working in France, including 9 months at the three-Michelin-starred Baumanière. He now returns to lead the kitchen alongside his father. “Caleb cooked in our restaurants for five years, including helping me open Swaylo’s Tiki and 99 Bar Saloon in Longmont,” said Sean Gafner. “Seeing him train in France and now coming back to lead this kitchen - it’s a full circle moment. I’m thrilled to open Club House with him at the lead!” The restaurant will serve a casual modern American menu featuring hyper-local, seasonal ingredients and elevated comfort food. Highlights include elk bolognese with garlic bread, hanger steak with peppercorn butter, wild blue crab cakes, and, of course, great burgers and hot dogs. Ingredients will be sourced from Colorado farms, with produce supplied by more than 15 local partners Gafner Hospitality Group works with across its restaurants. Beyond lunch and dinner, Club House will also serve breakfast daily from 7 a.m. - 11 a.m., offering hearty favorites such as pancakes and breakfast burritos alongside fruit parfaits for a lighter choice. Similar to other Gafner Hospitality Group restaurants, the cocktail menu will highlight locally made spirits, seasonal ingredients, and refreshing cocktails, alongside a thoughtful selection of local and national beers and wines. Signature drinks will include a Paloma made with fresh grapefruit and Boulder-based Suerte tequila, the Dailey Daley with vodka, lemonade, and iced tea, and the Transfusion, a golf course classic made with vodka, concord grape juice, and ginger ale. In addition to daily dining, Club House Fairway Tavern will introduce expanded event capabilities at the golf course, offering space for tournaments, private parties, weddings, rehearsal dinners, and other celebrations. The restaurant is currently undergoing renovations, including all new furniture, lighting, paint, and decor, along with a fully renovated kitchen and updated bar. The goal is to preserve the space's charm and history while presenting it in a more modern way, creating a place that feels familiar and welcoming, even on a first visit. Golfers will be able to order the full menu of food and drinks from anywhere on the course. Guests who are not golfing can enjoy the view from the patio’s 50 outdoor seats or relax inside the 100-seat dining room overlooking the course. Club House Fairway Tavern will be open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, with Happy Hour offered from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. Doors officially open May 1 at 7 a.m., with live music planned throughout the afternoon and evening to celebrate the start of the summer season in Estes Park. Club House, a Modern American restaurant and bar, is set to open May 1, 2026, at the Estes Park Golf Course in Estes Park, Colorado. The concept marks the newest venture from Gafner Hospitality Group (GHG), the team behind Northern Colorado favorites including The Roost, Jefes Tacos & Tequila, Swaylo’s Tiki, 99 Bar Saloon, and Ember. The kitchen will be led by Head Chef Caleb Gafner, who trained and worked in France, including 9 months at the three-Michelin-star restaurant Baumanière. The menu will highlight Modern American cuisine with an emphasis on seasonal ingredients and Colorado producers. Club House will be located at 1480 Golf Course Road in Estes Park. Businesses should also conaider posting the postponment and actively speading the word about firework restrictions to support the Town efforts to reduce wildfire risk. Estes Park’s July 4 fireworks show postponed amid increasing wildfire risk  The Town of Estes Park is postponing its annual Independence Day fireworks show over Lake Estes, with a new date to be announced once conditions are more favorable. The decision, made in consultation with the Estes Valley Fire Protection District, reflects significant changes in wildland fire risk observed over the weekend and an unfavorable weather forecast for the remainder of the week. An additional consideration is that firefighting resources across the broader region are rapidly declining as crews and equipment are mobilized to other parts of the state where wildfires are active. The Estes Valley Fire Protection District, however, has operational strategies and resources in place to respond immediately to any call for service within our district. Estes Park sits in a high-risk wildfire landscape. Fire safety is the Town's top priority — please make it yours, too. It is the utmost responsibility of each and every one of us to help protect our community and our neighbors by strictly adhering to all fire restrictions currently in place. If you spot a spark, smoke, or an unattended fire, call 911 immediately. Fast reporting saves homes and lives. Private Fireworks Are Illegal Personal and private fireworks are illegal in the Town of Estes Park and throughout the surrounding area — at all times, regardless of whether fire restrictions are active. Beyond the legal risk, they carry a serious threat of wildfire and injury.  Know the Restrictions in Effect Stage 2 fire restrictions are currently in place. Under these restrictions: Charcoal and wood grills, campfires, and other open flames are strictly prohibited. Smoking is prohibited except inside an enclosed vehicle or building — and never discard a cigarette outdoors.  Do not park or idle a vehicle over dry grass or vegetation; a hot exhaust system can ignite dry fuel in seconds.
