A professional development course to help you understand water and lead with confidenceThe Water Fluency Program offers immersion in the language of water as well as tools for navigating the culture, complexity, and future of water management and policy issues. Now in its 9th year, Water Fluency is a professional development course designed for anyone interested in gaining an in-depth understanding of Colorado water
management and protection. Typical participants are involved with making decisions about water, but may feel they lack basic background on water management and the regulatory environment to confidently make those decisions. This comprehensive program provides an opportunity for participants to learn about water through three virtual program days and a two-day in-person session with highly sought-out lectures, discussions, exclusive access to water sector leaders, breakout networking opportunities, site visits, a complete set of WEco’s Citizen’s Guides, and inter-session assignments.
Program curriculum covers: - Colorado’s water resources - Legal and institutional
frameworks - Water resource management - Colorado water for the future
The program covers statewide water topics blended with local examples as we travel around the state each year to bring the most current examples of innovative water practices. This year we will be highlighting the southern part of Colorado by showcasing water management examples from the beautiful Rio Grande Basin. Participants from across Colorado will benefit from the content. 2023 Water Fluency Program Schedule (program will be a hybrid format): - May 17 (virtual)
