Kathleen McCarthy and Nadeem Meghji have $65B to spend on real estate.
The co-heads of Blackstone's global real estate practice sat down with Bisnow UK Editor Mike Phillips to discuss where they're going to spend it, but the interview encompasses so much more, including how they are using artificial intelligence and lessons from Meghji's journey at Blackstone, from starting there during the 2008 Global Financial Crisis to taking the helm with McCarthy this year.
Though its deal flow dipped a bit last year, the pair said 2024 will be different.
“It sounds a little trite, perhaps, but we really haven't been waiting for the all-clear sign. We’ve been deploying in this moment of dislocation because we're looking forward, not backward,” Meghji said.
