The "Missing Middle" refers to a lack of diversity in housing types that fall in between single- family and large multi- family homes. These housing types are a crucial tool for serving middle income-earning families. Disability Justice in Affordable Housing Monday, March 30, 2026, 10-11 a.m. From long waitlists to financial barriers to limited ADA units to a lack of transitional housing, current providers are only available to serve a fraction of the existing need for Coloradoans with disabilities who are seeking stable affordable housing solutions. Further, hurdles and limitations in the enforcement of protective laws exacerbate housing issues for those who are in already vulnerable positions.
