Mya Lesnar Claims 2024 Indoor Women's Shot Put National Championship

Colorado State junior Mya Lesnar secured the first women's indoor national championship in Colorado State Track and Field history after recording a mark of 18.53 meters Saturday afternoon at the 2024 NCAA Indoor Championships.

Lesnar's championship throw came on her fourth attempt after throwing marks of 15.36 meters and 16.97 meters earlier in the competition to earn her the seventh qualifying spot in the final round of throws. The 18.53 mark also stands as a facilities record in the women's shot out at The Track at New Balance in Boston.
