Hello Brenda,

Hope you are well. I am reaching out to follow up on the meeting Commissioner Kefalas had with Together Colorado regarding the eviction legislation we are supporting. Commissioner Kefalas mentioned that he wanted a copy of the legislation as well as our materials on the legislation. Below I have provided a link to the legislation and I have attached a few fact sheets on the bill to this email. I would greatly appreciate it if you forwarded this along to the Commissioner as well as my thanks for taking the time to meet with us and to review the legislation.

Best,

Good afternoon Commissioner Kefalas,

You are correct, SB 173 is in the Senate Appropriations Committee on Wednesday and we’re hoping it will be up for seconds on Thursday. We truly appreciate your help as we are trying hard to get SB173 passed out of the Senate before the long bill begins.

Thanks again!

Kindly,

Meghan

Javier & Meghan,

I reviewed your materials and have been tracking SB-173. I see that it is up in the Senate Appropriations Committee next Wednesday with a minimal FN. Please let me know how I can help ensure with Sen. Ginal, and Reps. Kipp and Arndt. Thank you.

Hello Commissioner Kefalas,

This is really great news! Please keep us posted on how any conversations with Ginal go. The bill might hit the floor this week but we will keep you posted. Also it would be really helpful if you tweeted out your support of the legislation. I have included a link to a tweet about the bill we put out this morning and I have included a few sample tweets as well. Really appreciate all of your time on this so far.

Evictions have lasting impacts on the physical and mental health of those that they impact. @CoSenDem It's long past time to cap residential late fees and give renters a fighting chance in court. Please show your support for SB 21-173. #coleg #KeepColoradansHoused

Evictions and the threat of evictions have lasting impacts that ruin lives, they lead to damaged credit, an inability to find new housing, homelessness and negative physical and mental health outcomes. @COSenDem pass SB 173 to #KeepColoradansHoused #coleg

Best,

Javier.
