News from the Office of Financial Empowerment: December 2025 | View as Webpage | | |
Thank you for your engagement with the Colorado Office of Financial Empowerment in 2025! As we close out the year, we are grateful for our growing community of partners, dedicated to building financial resilience and well-being across Colorado. Here are a few highlights from the past year:
-
Financial Coaching and Counseling Grants Wrap-Up (opens new tab): Over the past two years, the Colorado Office of Financial Empowerment (OFE) has supported $3 million in grants to ten organizations across the state to expand access to free, individualized financial coaching and counseling. These grants supported culturally responsive, community-based programs aimed at improving financial health and stability—particularly in underserved areas. Although the grant period concludes on December 31st, the positive and meaningful impact of these initiatives is visible in communities like Pueblo, where a new Financial Empowerment Center was launched, and in Southeast Colorado, where residents gained access to tailored financial literacy services. This investment marks a significant step toward long-term financial resilience for Coloradans. OFE is grateful to our grantees and partners for their continued collaboration in creating a more financially resilient Colorado.
-
The Colorado Financial Coaching Community (CFCC) (opens new tab) supports the alignment, cohesion, and innovation across financial coaching and counseling programs serving Colorado communities. The CFCC has grown to include participation from over 65 organizations, convening regularly to engage in professional development, learning and networking opportunities.
-
As part of the CFCC, OFE supported 23 financial capability professionals in building coaching skills through the NeighborWorks America Training Program: HO310 Financial Coaching: Helping Clients Reach Their Goals (opens new tab) and a 4-week virtual participatory study group.
-
OFE supported 16 financial capability professionals in enhancing their personal finance knowledge through AFCPE's Money Management Essentials (opens new tab) course and an 8-week participatory study group.
- Over 352 partners representing almost 220 different organizations and agencies participated in virtual and in-person events hosted by the OFE in 2025.
We look forward to continuing our progress and deepening partnerships in 2026.

Join the virtual event hosted by the Urban Institute to learn how local leaders are driving bold, data-driven strategies to build inclusive economies and advance Black prosperity across the country. A key pillar of this work is supporting Black-owned small businesses through expanded access to capital, increased capacity, and targeted policy changes. This virtual convening will explore innovative policies, community-driven initiatives, and cross-sector strategies that cities can implement to foster Black wealth creation, support asset building, and ensure long-term economic equity and prosperity.
