The Latest from One Colorado

July 1, 2025

Today's email is 1100 words - an 8.5 minute read.

To our kings, queens, and in-betweens,

Thank you to every single person who showed up, spoke out, danced with us, marched beside us, and celebrated who we are at over 21 PRIDE events across Colorado this pride season! From Steamboat Springs to Durango, Salida to Pikes Peak, Cortez to Avon…you showed up, and it mattered!

As we come down from the high of the season, we need to remember that PRIDE isn’t just a month. PRIDE is a movement. PRIDE is every day and we hope you'll continue to celebrate with us throughout the rest of the year!

Yes, we celebrate in June. We wear our flags, our colors, our heels, and our heart. But the work, the fight, and the showing up? That happens all year long. That happens EVERY. SINGLE. DAY.

This year hasn’t been easy. Our community continues to face cruel attacks, especially our transgender, nonbinary, and gender-expansive family. But here’s what the opposition doesn’t get:

We are not tired. We are not backing down. We are not going anywhere.

With your support, One Colorado has defeated anti-trans legislation, passed groundbreaking protections like HB25-1309, and expanded our leadership programs because we know that lasting change comes from lifting people up, amplifying voices, and demanding better for ourselves, each other, and our community every day.

We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished together so far this year. But we’re even more proud to keep building with you, in every season, in every town, and in every fight.

So thank you for celebrating with us, standing beside us, and committing to more than just one month of PRIDE.

Let’s keep showing up. Let’s keep being bold. Let’s keep leading with love, with power, and with purpose.

Peace and Respect,

Nadine Bridges (She/Her)
Executive Director
One Colorado

Building Power, Defending Freedom: A Community Town Hall with One Colorado

Join One Colorado for a statewide virtual town hall, on Wednesday July 2, 2025, as we reflect on what we’ve accomplished, break down what the Supreme Court’s recent decisions mean for LGBTQIA+ Coloradans, and prepare for what’s next in the fight for freedom and dignity for all.

We’ll review key wins from the 2025 legislative session, unpack how national attacks on trans healthcare and civil rights could impact our state, and outline the threats we’re facing in 2026, including potential ballot measures that could target our communities.

This is a space for learning, organizing, and collective power. Whether you’re new to this work or deeply involved, you’ll leave with the information and inspiration needed to keep moving forward, together! Register Today!

Team Picks:

🎧 Micah is listening to the podcast Ologies with Alie Ward is my favorite way to chill out and feel a little more grounded. She interviews scientists about all kinds of weird and wonderful stuff and makes it all super fun and easy to understand. It’s a great reminder that there’s still a lot of cool, interesting stuff in the world, even when things feel pretty scary. My favorite episode is Bryology (Moss) with Dr. Robin Wall Kimmerer, author of Braiding Sweetgrass and Gathering Moss.

🎧  Ian is listening to Glory by Perfume Genius! Glory is a collection of songs that explores themes of mortality, grief, and the complexities of queer identity.

Birthdays:

Happy Birthday to Alex L. (He/Him), our Chief Development and Operations Officer, who has been instrumental in building relationships with community members and organizations who believe in and support our work!
